What is the Dairy Management System?
The Dairy Management System is a web application that helps a dairy business manage milk collection, suppliers, customers, stock, and payments in one coordinated platform. It records daily milk collection from suppliers along with quantity and fat content, calculates payments based on quality and volume, and tracks sales to customers and retailers. The system keeps an accurate picture of milk stock, manages supplier and customer accounts, and generates clear payment and billing records, bringing order to a high-frequency, quantity-driven business. Administrators manage suppliers, customers, rates, and products from a central dashboard.
This project uses MongoDB as its datastore, whose flexible document model suits varied collection and transaction records, while PHP and the CodeIgniter framework provide a structured MVC application layer. Role-based logins separate administrators and staff, keeping financial data secure. Reports on daily collection, sales, supplier payments, and revenue help the business manage cash flow and quality. By tying quantity and quality to payment calculation, the project demonstrates realistic, formula-driven business logic.
Complete source code and documentation are included so students can study how a NoSQL database supports a high-volume transactional application. This mini project suits learners interested in collection, quality-based pricing, and payment tracking in an agricultural supply chain.
