What is the Social Networking Site?

The Social Networking Site is a small Facebook-style app. Users create profiles, send friend requests, and share posts with text and photos.

Friends can like and comment, and the news feed shows recent posts from friends. Private chat and notifications keep users connected. It is built with Laravel, PHP and JavaScript.

Best for: BCA, MCA, BSc IT, BE / B.Tech (CSE / IT) and diploma students. Good as a mini project for your semester submission.

  1. Install XAMPP and start Apache and MySQL from the XAMPP control panel.
  2. Copy the project folder into C:\xampp\htdocs\ (or htdocs on Mac).
  3. Open localhost/phpmyadmin, create a new database and import the .sql file we provide.
  4. Run composer install, copy .env.example to .env and add your database name.
  5. Open localhost/project-folder in your browser and log in with the admin details given in the documentation.
