The Event Management System is a comprehensive web application that handles the planning and coordination of events, from creating an event to registering attendees, allocating resources, and billing. Organisers can create events with dates, venues, capacities, and ticket types, while attendees browse upcoming events, register or book tickets, and receive confirmations. The system tracks registrations against capacity to prevent overbooking, manages vendors and resources required for each event, and records payments accurately. Administrators oversee all events, attendees, and finances from a central dashboard, giving them full control over a busy calendar.

As a major project, it covers the complete event lifecycle. Built with PHP and the CodeIgniter framework over a robust PostgreSQL database, it is designed to handle concurrent registrations reliably using a clean MVC architecture.   1. Install XAMPP and start Apache and MySQL from the XAMPP control panel.
  2. Copy the project folder into C:\xampp\htdocs\ (or htdocs on Mac).
  3. Open localhost/phpmyadmin, create a new database and import the .sql file we provide.
  4. Open the database config file and enter your database name, username and password.
  5. Open localhost/project-folder in your browser and log in with the admin details given in the documentation.
