Gesture Recognition System Project
A Hand Gesture Recognition System in Python using MediaPipe and ML to recognise hand gestures from a webcam.
- Python
- TensorFlow/Scikit-learn
- Firebase
- Remote setup included
See the project running first, then pay.
What is the Gesture Recognition System?
The Gesture Recognition System recognises hand gestures like thumbs up, peace and fist. MediaPipe finds 21 hand landmarks in each frame.
A machine learning model classifies the gesture, and each gesture can trigger an action like changing volume or slides. It is built with Python, OpenCV, MediaPipe and Scikit-learn.

How the Gesture Recognition System Works
Dataset
A public dataset is loaded, cleaned and split into train and test parts.
Training
The model learns patterns from the training data.
Testing
Accuracy, precision and recall are checked on test data.
Prediction
Users give new input in the web page and get the result instantly.
