What is the Library Management System?
The Library Management System is a web-based application that replaces manual registers with a fast, searchable digital catalogue for schools, colleges, and public libraries. It lets librarians add and categorise books, track every copy, and manage member accounts, while students and members can search the catalogue, check availability, and view their borrowing history from any browser. The system records issues and returns automatically, calculates fines for overdue books, and prevents the same copy from being lent twice, removing the errors that creep into paper-based tracking.
An admin dashboard summarises total titles, issued books, pending returns, and active members so staff always know the state of the collection at a glance. Built with PHP and the CodeIgniter framework over a MySQL database, the project uses a tidy MVC architecture that separates data, logic, and presentation for easy maintenance. Role-based logins keep administrative controls separate from ordinary member access, and reusable query builder methods keep the database layer clean and secure against injection.
Reports on the most borrowed titles and frequent members help librarians plan future purchases. With full source code and documentation provided, this mini project is well suited to students learning CRUD operations, search, and reporting in a practical, real-world setting.

- Copy the project folder into
