What is the Gym Management System?
The Gym Management System is a web application that helps fitness centres manage members, plans, payments, and trainers without relying on paper registers. It stores member profiles, assigns membership plans with start and expiry dates, and tracks fee payments so staff always know who is active and whose subscription is due. Members can view their plan details, payment history, and assigned trainer through their own login, while administrators handle registrations, plan creation, and renewals from a central dashboard. The system automatically flags expiring and expired memberships, helping the gym follow up on renewals and reduce revenue leakage.
Built on PHP with the CodeIgniter framework and a MySQL database, this mini project uses a clean MVC structure that keeps the code organised and simple to maintain. Role-based access separates administrators, trainers, and members so each user reaches only the appropriate screens. - Install XAMPP and start Apache and MySQL from the XAMPP control panel.
- Copy the project folder into
C:\xampp\htdocs\(orhtdocson Mac). - Open
localhost/phpmyadmin, create a new database and import the.sqlfile we provide. - Open the database config file and enter your database name, username and password.
