What is the Laundry Management System?
The Laundry Management System is a web application that digitises the workflow of a laundry or dry-cleaning service, from accepting garments to delivering them back clean and billed. Customers can place orders, specify services such as washing, ironing, or dry cleaning, and track the status of their order online, while staff update each order as it moves through collection, processing, and ready-for-delivery stages. The system calculates charges based on item type and service, generates clear bills, and keeps a history for every customer. Administrators manage the price list, staff, and the overall order flow from a central dashboard.
This project uses Firebase as its datastore, giving it real-time status updates and cloud-backed reliability, while PHP and the CodeIgniter framework provide a structured MVC application layer. Role-based logins separate administrators, staff, and customers, keeping pricing and data secure. Reports on order volumes, popular services, and daily revenue help the owner plan staffing and capacity. - Install XAMPP and start Apache and MySQL from the XAMPP control panel.
- Copy the project folder into
C:\xampp\htdocs\(orhtdocson Mac). - Open
