What is the Society Management System?
The Society Management System is a web application that helps a residential society or housing community manage its residents, maintenance dues, complaints, notices, and facilities in one place. The committee can register flats and residents, raise and track maintenance bills, publish notices, and manage common facilities, while residents pay dues online, raise complaints, book amenities, and stay informed through announcements. The system records every payment and complaint, flags outstanding dues, and keeps a transparent log that reduces disputes common in manually managed societies. This project uses Firebase as its datastore, providing real-time updates and cloud-backed reliability, while PHP and the CodeIgniter framework supply a structured MVC application layer.
Role-based logins separate committee administrators, staff, and residents, keeping financial and personal data secure. The dashboard summarises collections, pending dues, and open complaints, giving the committee a clear operational picture. Reports on payments, complaint resolution, and facility usage support fair and efficient management. By tying together billing, complaints, notices, and amenities, the project demonstrates how community administration is digitised.

- Install XAMPP and start Apache and MySQL from the XAMPP control panel.
- Copy the project folder into
C:\xampp\htdocs\(orhtdocson Mac). - Open
localhost/phpmyadmin, create a new database and import the.sqlfile we provide. - Open the database config file and enter your database name, username and password.
